Marriage Your marriage can be analogous to a car that the two of you are riding in. No one would think of driving his or her car for decades without maintaining it. And so it is with marriage. As with your car, after a few years the carpets get stained from dirty feet and food dropped on it. The fabric on the seats begins to wear from constant use. The tires, where the rubber meets the road, wear and the outside gets dings from everywhere. The engine, if not maintained regularly will simply shut down. Ever felt that way? You simply cannot keep the car as pristine as the day you drove it off the showroom floor. And so it is with our marriages. You car comes equipped with tools to at least change the tire when it goes flat. Your marriage needs tools when it encounters flats along the road.
